The Importance of Bonded Area IT Inventory for Companies

Recently, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) issued a new regulation on IT Inventory of  bonded areas. This regulation aims to provide convenience and certainty for service user companies in bonded areas in Indonesia.

This regulation is contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Finance Number 131 / PMK.04 / 2018 and the Regulation of the Director General of Customs and Excise number PER-19 / BC / 2018 concerning the Management of Bonded Areas. The fundamental change that occurs due to the rolling out of this regulation is that users of Indonesian bonded area services are required to use information technology that manages the income and expenditure of goods or better known as IT inventory management.

If your company has a permit in one of Indonesia's bonded areas or has just decided to apply for a permit, then this regulation should be your main concern. In this article, we will discuss this in more depth.

IT Inventory Criteria

In the regulations rolled out by DJBC, they stated that the IT inventory that DJBC requires must meet the following conditions:

  • You can use IT inventory to record the income of goods, the rxpenditure of goods, goods in the production process, are being adjusted, and the result of stock-taking continuously and in real time.
  • IT inventory can serve to create reports in the form of:
    • Report on the entry of goods per-customs document
    • Expenditure of goods per-customs documents
    • Report on the position of goods in the production process
    • Mutation of goods, namely:
      • Raw materials and auxiliary materials.
      • Finished goods
      • Scrap items
      • Office machinery and tools

 

Another criterion that DJBC requires is that the IT inventory must be accessible by Customs and Excise officers for 24 hours. Not only that, the IT inventory must be integrated with an accounting system that functions to produce financial reports.

Choosing the right IT Inventory software

It is true that there are many inventory software  circulating in Indonesia. However, not all IT inventory software  has the capabilities required by DJBC and is suitable for companies in Indonesia.

One of the most important drawbacks is that the inventory software  cannot be integrated with accounting software. As a result, if you continue to insist on using the software, you will often repeat the input process, once in the inventory software  and again on the accounting software.

This is of course inefficient and not in accordance with the conditions that the DJBC mentioned. Therefore, use IT inventory software  that is in accordance with regulations for companies that use bonded area services.
